Hendy Group and Ford UK will open a pop-up EV showroom and information hub at Gunwharf Quays in Portsmouth between 18 and 22 June.
The event has been organised by Ford UK as part of its ‘Go Electric’ campaign to support local drivers looking to make the switch to EVs. Local family-run dealer group, Hendy Group, is supporting the initiative.
Ross Ovenden, franchise performance manager at Hendy Group, said: “Hendy has a historic association with Ford, and our brand values align once again in supporting the transition to electrified mobility.
“The Ford ‘Go Electric’ truck takes the EV experience to people and allows them to ask anything and everything about EV ownership in a friendly and welcoming environment. These two pop-up events will help to educate local communities on how the EV lifestyle can work for them, whatever their circumstances.
“A growing number of drivers across the south coast rely on Hendy to help them make the right vehicle choice, and the more people we can encourage into EVs, the better the local environment and air quality become for us all.”
Ford Ambassadors will be available to answer any questions about EV ownership, bust myths around EVs and encourage greater uptake.
Hendy Group has over 60 sites across the south coast representing 23 brands, with more than 15 of which offering new EVs.
Drivers over the age of 21 can take part in an accompanied 10-mile test route. The EVs available to test at the Gunwharf Quays event include the small Ford Puma Gen-E SUV, the family Ford Explorer SUV, the all-new Ford Capri, and the Ford Mustang Mach-E SUV.
Anyone who takes part in a Ford Explorer test drive will be entered into a prize draw to win a new Ford All-Electric Explorer Premium RWD Extended Range, worth over £55,000 (RRP).
Hendy and Ford ‘Go Electric’ will also collaborate on a pop-up EV showroom which will be located at West Quay, Southampton, from 23 to 27 June.
