Former Marshall Motors CEO and current IMI vice president and chair of the nominations committee, Daksh Gupta is spearheading the search to appoint the next CEO of the IMI.

The job, which carries a salary of up to £175,000 plus benefits, was left vacant with the departure of Steve Nash last year. The nominations committee, which includes Linda Jackson, former CEO at Peugeot, has appointed11 new non-executive directors to the board.

“The automotive sector is experiencing the most profound transformation,” said Gupta. “That’s why we are creating a board that has hands-on experience both within and outside the sector, energised to support the needs of the people and businesses that make our industry tick.

“The next IMI CEO will understand the significance of our sector and the people within it. They will be leading an organisation and a refreshed Board that is wholly focused on current and future skills requirements.

It is a fantastic opportunity to really make a difference to the lives of the people and businesses in automotive.”
