Dodge hasn’t announced plans to offer a convertible version of its latest Charger, and an open-top version of the modern muscle car likely isn’t coming, at least from the factory. However, buyers with a penchant for driving with the wind gushing through their hair now have an option thanks to the aftermarket.
Florida’s Drop Top Customs, a company that built up a reputation for providing a convertible conversion for the previous Dodge Challenger—including having its conversion offered directly at some Dodge dealerships—has taken to social media to announce plans for a convertible version of the latest Charger, including the Charger Daytona electric models.
2024 Dodge Charger Daytona convertible conversion by Drop Top Customs
First spotted by Carscoops, Drop Top Customs has already posted online a series of photos of a Charger Daytona with the convertible conversion applied. Details of the conversion haven’t been released, but the conversion for the previous Challenger required structural reinforcements to reduce body flex, which increased the weight of the car. The Charger Daytona is already a heavy beast at 5,838 pounds, and any extra weight will be unwelcome for performance fans. The standard car’s heft already makes itself felt during spirited driving.
Drop Top Customs also hasn’t revealed details on pricing or availability. The conversion for the Challenger costs $23,999, not including the cost of transporting the vehicle to the company’s workshop in High Springs, Florida. Included in the cost is the installation of a powered soft-top roof with a heated rear window and retracting rear quarter windows. Approximately 20% of the trunk space is required for the roof mechanism.

For buyers with extra cash to splurge, Drop Top Customs offers upgrades for the interior like Katzkin leather trim for the seats and center console.
The latest Charger is currently available exclusively in its Charger Daytona EV guise; however, an inline-6 option is planned at a later date, as well as a sedan body style to join the current coupe. Pricing for the Charger Daytona currently starts at $61,590 for the 456-hp R/T and at $75,185 for the 630-hp Scat Pack. The sole battery on offer is a 100.5-kWh unit.
