Day’s Motor Group celebrated over 100 years of being in business. Established in 1926 by Charles Edward Manton Day on St Helen’s Road, Swansea, it began as a Singer dealer before starting its long-standing relationship with Ford in 1934.
It remains in private ownership, led by the fourth generation: Graham Day, supported by his son Russell Day (CEO & Managing Director), his sister Jill Day, and a committed team of senior managers and staff.
Russell Day, Managing Director, said: “Reaching this milestone is more than just a celebration of our business history. It’s a celebration of resilience. Our family, our people, and our customers have stood together through the toughest of times. From the shadow of war to recessions and fuel crises, Day’s has always adapted and emerged stronger.
“Most importantly, we’re proud to have supported thousands of people with meaningful work in Wales. But this is just the start — we’re excited about the future, and we’d say to everyone: watch this space.”
The business has provided employment to thousands of people across Wales. Today, Day’s Motor Group employs over 500 people, making it one of the largest Welsh-based dealer group.
It represents leading vehicle manufacturers including Ford, Peugeot, and IVECO, and operates across five sites in South and West Wales.
Alongside its dealerships, the company has also grown its operations with Day’s Fleet, Day’s Rental, and Day’s finance.
