Arnold Clark Ambassador Sir Chris Hoy visited Arnold Clark Glasgow to have his BMW fitted with a bike rack for three bikes.
He came fresh from the inaugural tour de 4 at the weekend, which raised over £2m in support of cancer charities.
Guy Watson, head of business at Arnold Clark Glasgow, posted on LinkedIn his admiration for Sir Chris and the way he had dealt with his own cancer diagnosis.
“Chris’s resilience since receiving such devastating personal news has been nothing short of inspiring.
“Following his story, and reading his book, you can only admire his courage and his determination to turn adversity into something positive to support the families living with cancer.
“But today was all about speed. As if being the fastest man in the velodrome wasn’t enough, Chris’s daily driver of choice is the equally iconic BMW M3 xDrive Touring. Finished in stunning Aventurine Red, with 510bhp on tap, all the spec in an Ultimate Pack, and M Carbon Ceramic brakes, it’s a car built for performance, acceleration, agility, and instant stopping power. In many ways, it mirrors Chris performance on his bike.
“The moment was completed when we helped him fit his bike carrier and load up three of his super-light bikes onto the roof. Two icons, perfectly matched, but Chris spirit, is simply unrivalled,” he said.
