The new car market in April saw key bands accelerate ahead while others found the going rough.
Chinese car brand BYD continued to grow its market share in the UK from a low base with sales increasing six-fold (654%) to 2,511 for the month.
It was followed by Jeep which saw a 135.6% increase in sales to 815 units while Geely owned Polestar rose 82.8% to 859 units.
Stellantis owned brands Peugeot and Vauxhall gained sales. Peugeot saw sales accelerate 37.9% to 5,914 units while Vauxhall was up 17.7% to 5,162 units.
At the other end of the spectrum Tesla saw sales decline 62.1% to 512 units while Citroen was down 54.6% too 958 cars sold. Seat fell 46.3% to 1,854 cars sold.
Overall, new car sales in April fell -10.4% with 120,331 units registered, the sixth decline in the last seven months.
